THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S THEATRE SATURDAY WORKSHOPS

The National Children’s Theatre Workshops (NCT) are directed by multi-award winning Joyce Levinsohn, who has had many years experience in bringing theatrical arts alive, while the NCT’s highly experienced, dedicated and specialist teacher/actors facilitate the workshops.

NCT provides challenging, innovative and stimulating Theatre Workshop classes on a weekly, year-round basis for children aged 7-17, giving all children the opportunity to develop their communication skills, unleash their imaginations and self-confidence, and powers of expression. The syllabus includes drama, improvisation, script reading, singing, musical appreciation, mime, physical theatre, public speaking, modern, hip-hop and African dance. A TV presentation course will be offered according to the demand.

Week 1

• Muppets & Puppets  Monday
  *Make felt finger or hand puppets colourful and fun to do
  *Decorate your puppets
  *Make up a puppet show and entertain us all (we will help you!)
• Task Mask Tuesday
  *Choose a mask of your choice from our selection
  *Paint, decorate and embellish with feathers, beads, sequins etc etc
  *Dress up with your mask and play act
• Wacky Clay Modelling Wednesday
  *Choose whatever character you’d like to invent – dinosaur Barney Little Mermaid or whatever   character of your own choice
  *Modelling clay is non-toxic, easy to use and in beautiful bright colours
  *Once clay model is completed, you can play freely and we  will bake it ready for you to take it home
• Crazy Cookie Icing Thursday
  *Biscuits to be combined & created into all sorts of weird and wonderful “things“
  * icing & beautiful different decorations to add to creations & finish them off
  **All very yummy and good for taste sense stimulation, together with imagination
•  Friendship Friday
  *Bring a friend or sibling for half price! Or just come on your own and join friends at Jellyfish
  *Make friendship strings colourful and fun to do

Week 2

• Fabric Printing Monday
  *When booking you choose from a range of items (cap/apron/t-shirt)
  *Choose bright colours and make up your own paint designs
  *Finish off your personalized item with additional decorations
• Face Painting Tuesday
   *Your choice of whatever fun character
  *Transform your face into your character with non-toxic paint
  *Become that character for the day by dressing up and play acting
  *Make a craft of your face painted character using recycled materials
• Wacky Clay Modelling Wednesday
  *Brought back by special demand
  *So you  can create another character or  whatever you want with modeling clay
  *Always good to have a second round to entrench the eye-hand co-ordination and fine sensory motor skills
• Potato Printing Thursday
  *Create your own print design
  *Print creating wrapping papers, gift bags, cards, book covers etc etc
  *Make a craft using recycled materials showing the value of what we can re-use
• Art – In – The – Park Friday
  *Come and paint canvasses on the grass on easels to music
  *Choice of canvasses free form or paint the designs in colour
  *Further choice of sand art, glitter art and other choices
  *just a fun day in the jellyfish garden!

Every day kids will have time for free interactive play
Kids are very welcome to book for both sessions in a day to assist Moms and Dads
