Cleft Angels Support South Africa has been started for one simple reason: SUPPORTING YOU. Our daughter was born in march 2009 and we found out about her cleft lip at our 20 week scan. We were one of the “lucky” few who get time to prepare ourselves for what lay ahead. In the following 18 weeks our family quickly discovered that South Africa did not have any form of support for cleft parents.

After complaining to our speech therapist about this it dawned on me......... Why complain? It’s not going to get a support site put up. So I sat down with my partner and we decided not to let our lessons we’d learnt and will still learn go to waste. That very day when our daughter was just 2 days old “Cleft Angels Support South Africa” was born.
