Founded in December 2001 by Hank & Tracy Chalmers, Eagle Encounters is a bird of prey rehabilitation, education, conservation and eco-tourism centre.

All Day Up-Close-&-Personal (interactive)
Our experienced handlers await you in the Touching Gallery, to facilitate your personal encounter with an eagle; then into the Owl Mews, where your active participation helps keep these fluffy-feathered cuties in flying shape!

Eagle Encounters is not a zoo, and our birds do not live in cages. Take a stroll through our ‘weathering area’, where you can openly view the largest, smallest, strongest, fastest and cheekiest….

On a potluck basis, we welcome you to observe as we utilize age-old falconry techniques to train various birds. The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest living creature on earth. And nowhere in the wild would you find the opportunity to witness and photograph Africa’s largest eagles in flight, as close-up as you can see them at Eagle Encounters. Watch in awe as our experienced handler puts any one of these majestic raptors through their paces. |

Your entrance fee entitles you to come and go for the day, to enjoy the variety of exciting activities we have on display for you. It’s a full day’s entertainment for the whole family!
