In essence, intelligence is not a single entity based purely on an IQ score, but rather on a wide range of talents. The old idea that an IQ score of over 140 represents a “genius” is no longer accepted. Intelligence is a multi-faceted concept which may refer to more than a single type of ability. This workshop explores the issue of achievement anxiety and help your children to identify their specific areas of strength and in doing so, assist in boosting their self-esteem.

09h00 - 15h00

Being a teenager these days can be a real challenge! Being popular seems to be the order of the day and very often can come at a very high price. Peer pressure can challenge and strengthen your confidence, help you learn more about who you are and what you believe, and teach you that friendships are great. BUT, it can also be very confusing and sometimes painful. This workshop provides the tools for your children to choose their own destiny.

LOOKING FOR AN ADVENTURE? BUSH BABY ADVENTURE TRAIL

Date: 24 April 2010
Venue: Lourensford Estate, Lourensford Road,
Somerset West
The Adventure Challenge consists of a 20km mountain bike trail ride (two 10km loops) and 5km trail (two 2.5km loops) dash through nature with natural obstacles and water crossings. Teams can participate in the long or short courses and for the less energetically inclined there’s a scenic 6-7km circular route nature hike.

Spur Adventure ambassador and seven-time Dusi Marathon winner, Martin Dreyer is also participating in the event and encouraging everyone to join him as all proceeds from the challenge go to Joint Aid Management (JAM), a charity that works to feed less fortunate children across South Africa.
According Group Managing Director Pierre van Tonder the Spur Adventure Charity Challenge is an outdoor experience for the whole family. “Spur Adventure is a celebration of all things South African’ an event that makes the most of our great weather, our scenic surrounds and the simple pleasure of spending time with family and friends.”
